and that’s what they promised on Google I/O 2025

  • Anthropic Launches Claude 4: AI Models That Code for Hours Without Human Input

Anthropic unveiled Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4 during its inaugural developer conference, marking the company's return to larger models after focusing on mid-tier variations. The new models can analyze large datasets, execute long-horizon tasks, and work autonomously for several hours. In one demonstration, Claude 4 refactored code continuously for seven hours straight. Both models are specifically tuned for programming tasks, with Opus 4 priced at $15/$75 per million tokens and Sonnet 4 at $3/$15 per million tokens.

  • OpenAI Acquires Jony Ive's Startup for $6.5 Billion, Hints at Mystery AI Device.

OpenAI completed its acquisition of io, the AI hardware startup founded by former Apple design chief Jony Ive. CEO Sam Altman described the company's next major product as a small, screenless device that will serve as a "third core device" alongside laptops and phones - an "AI companion" integrated into daily life. The device is designed to fit on a desk or in a pocket, though Altman emphasized it won't be a wearable.

  • MIT Technology Review Anthropic’s new hybrid AI model can work on tasks autonomously for hours at a time.

Claude Opus 4 has been built to execute complex tasks that involve completing thousands of steps over several hours. For example, it created a guide for the video game Pokémon Red while playing it for more than 24 hours straight. The company’s previously most powerful model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, was capable of playing for just 45 minutes, says Dianne Penn, product lead for research at Anthropic.

🔎 Spotlight: Search Will Never Be the Same: Inside Google’s Gemini Reveal at I/O 2025

Google I/O event was basically trying to convince everyone that “we are still leaders in the AI race”

but I think everyone knows it’s OpenAI who took the most of the market share.

Personally I think Gemini and Veo 3 from google is really underrated

Google is rapidly integrating its best AI models into its products

Significant model updates include Gemini 2.5 Pro, described as Google's "most intelligent model ever", which now incorporates LearnLM, making it the "leading model for learning"

They claims they are ahead but time will test and will tell us later.

They made a new Deep Think mode. Other models introduced are the efficient Gemini Flash, fast image generation with Gemini Diffusion, richer images with Imagen 4 and yes VEO 3 too.

But the really important one is to ensure authenticity, SynthID is being advanced to watermark and detect generated media.

These AI capabilities are transforming core products like Google Search with a new AI Mode for longer, more complex queries, agentic capabilities, and advanced features for shopping and data analysis

and how can I forget Gemini app

They claiming that it is personal assistant, and it gives you personalized assistant tailored to the user.

Overall, Google sees AI as a major opportunity to "improve lives" and drive progress.
